ABOUT PUGET PAVING
Puget Paving was started in 1977 by Gerald Gehring and Gwynn Dickson (now semi-retired but still a valuable presence in the corporation). Gerald’s sons Gunnar and Stefan have since joined the company as owner-managers. We take a personal interest in the quality of every job we perform. As such, all of the owners are directly involved in daily operations including estimating projects and working on the crews laying asphalt.

GERALD GEHRING
Gerald moved to the area in 1955 with his extended family and has lived in University Place ever since. In high school he held summer jobs at Lige Dickson Co., a prominent Tacoma civil contractor. He continued with the firm after graduating from college, eventually becoming superintendent of asphalt operations. Gerald and Gwynn formed Puget Paving & Construction in 1977 and incorporated three years later. Gerald also serves on the University Place City Council, and on the Pierce Transit Board of Commissioners.

GUNNAR GEHRING
Gunnar has been around the company since he was very young. After serving a church mission to Germany and graduating from college he joined Puget Paving full-time. He currently handles crew scheduling and safety issues.

STEFAN GEHRING
Stefan has also been with Puget Paving since summer breaks in high school and, like his brother, has assumed greater responsibility over the years. His roles include estimating, and sharing management decision-making.

STEPHANIE PILAND
Stephanie has lived in the Northwest for most of her life and has worked in the construction industry for almost 30 years. Stephanie is our Controller and also performs the duties of Office Manager.
